Talk of sustainable development has been widespread for years, and the broader environmental crisis is deepening, yet progress towards a green(er) economy and way of life is still slow. It's a cliche that environmental problems cross borders and require countries to act together if they are to be solved, but sustainability also requires us to focus on the local level as much as possible. How can this circle be squared? This expert round table will explore what we in the county of Surrey can do to become sustainable, with a core focus on economics. The speakers come from both higher education and the world of politics, and ensure that the event can discuss not only concepts and principles, but also practical policy proposals.
