About this event

Join us for three evenings of shared meals and honest conversation with Jenny Sinclair, founder and Director of Together for the Common Good.

We are running three linked events exploring faith, work and civic life led by Jenny, with each subsequent session building on the conversations from the last.

If you missed the first event on September 30th, you are welcome to purchase a series ticket and join us for the next two - on October 30th, and November 27th.

You'll be invited to pull up a chair at St Cleopas Church to join conversations around a dinner table led by Jenny.

Ticket sales will end on October 30th and there won't be an option to attend only the third event. (This is only for those who did not purchase a ticket first the first event - if you joined us for that, then your existing ticket still stands - please don't buy another!)

Over the three sessions we'll cover:

  1. Reading the Signs: Where Are We, Really? - Tuesday September 30th - Take an honest look at today’s social landscape, exploring the 'signs of the times', guided by Catholic Social Thought.
  2. From Charity to Solidarity - Thursday October 30th - Discuss how we move from simply helping people to standing alongside communities in solidarity - love as shared power, mutual support and decent work - and why this shift matters for dignity and agency.
  3. A Story of Communion - Thursday November 27th - Explore how local calling and deeper relationships can shape a fair, common‑good economy together. Imagine a local economy rooted in friendship, shared flourishing, and collective wellbeing.

Who should come?

  • Church leaders, volunteers and activists
  • Community organisers, local councillors and curious neighbours
  • Anyone interested in a deeper, hope-filled vision of public life

No prior knowledge required – curiosity is enough. Read a Q&A with Jenny, who delivered the 2025 Micah Lecture at Liverpool Cathedral

What to expect

  • 6.30 pm – Arrivals and supper
  • 7pm – 7.30 pm – Session lead by Jenny (25 mins)
  • 7.30 pm – Table discussion & response
  • 8.00 pm – Closing reflection and next steps
  • 8.15pm – Closing prayer and goodbyes

A free vegetarian dinner is provided each evening, included in the cost.
