Join Nadia Valman, Professor of Urban Literature at Queen Mary University of London, for a talk on the life and work of the Victorian novelist and poet Amy Levy.

Levy, one of Victorian London’s most promising young writers, forged an intellectual and creative life for herself in the rapidly changing city. Discover how she used her Jewish background, her commitment to feminism and her attraction to other women to create new forms of writing, drawing both acclaim and controversy.

The event is FREE but booking is required. Suitable for all ages.

This talk is part of Jewish Reform Pioneers: Uncovering BPR Cemetery's Hidden Stories. A parternship between Islington Council and West London Synagogue, made possible by funds from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
