Description

Follow a knowledgeable guide through the newly restored building and discover the fascinating functions and features of the different historic spaces inside St Albans Museum + Gallery.

From the glittering galas and balls in the Assembly Room to the Cells below where prisoners were held, come and discover the hidden stories of this local landmark.

These tours involve walking around the building and will finish in the Cells.

The tours will last around an hour, from 2.30pm - 3.30pm.

Tickets are free, but are limited to 15 tickets for each tour due to the nature of the building. If you do not reserve your ticket in advance, places will be first come, first served on the day and you may not be able to join the group.

Tickets are available until 8am on the day of the tour, if you'd like to book a ticket on the day, please call the front desk on 01727 864 511 who will let you know if there are spaces available.

Due to the historic nature of the spaces, the Cells can only be accessed via a set of steps.
Please let us know if you have any additional access needs and would like to take part in this tour (museum@stalbans.gov.uk).

These tours are in partnerships with St Albans Tour Guides - for information about their amazing breadth of walks to discover more about our historic city - from Coaching Inns to Fishpool Street, Verulamium to Ghosts and Ghouls, visit their website.
