Description

Town Halls for Change #1- The crisis of trust is a crisis of leadership! (and how to overcome this...) - Robert Phillips and Sacha Romanovitch in conversation with Matthew Gwyther

In this first session, Sacha Romanovitch, CEO of Grant Thornton in the UK and Robert Phillips, founder of Jericho Chambers will be hosted by the journalist Matthew Gwyther to discuss how the growing trust deficit across our society is really a leadership crisis. With the recent Edelman Trust barometer-2018 making depressing reading, they will explore how leaders across business, social enterprise and the public sector are finding new ways of growing trust both through long-term direction setting and everyday behaviour.

You are warmly invited to join us for a glass, delicious food by Impact Hub member Elysia catering, and an action-focussed conversation - come with a friend, a provocative question and be ready to be changed by what you hear.

More about the speakers and host:

In 2015 Sacha Romanovitch became the first female CEO of a top City accountancy firm, subsequently making waves with a profit sharing policy and by capping her salary. Amongst other things she is leading the company’s initiative to make the UK economy more vibrant, and under her leadership the firm was recognised as number 1 in the Social Mobility Employer’s Index 2017. Read more about her here.

Robert Phillips is an expert in trust and communications and advisor to global business leaders and organisations. He is the author of Trust Me, PR is Dead; co-founder of Jericho Chambers, where he has developed new working principles to help organisations think and communicate differently and build coalitions to help put this thinking into practice. Read some of his recent writings here, here and here.

Matthew Gwyther is a journalist, writer and broadcaster and the main presenter on BBC Radio 4's 'In Business’ programme. He edited Management Today for 17 years and wrote for the Sunday Times magazine, The Independent, The Telegraph, The Observer, GQ, and co-wrote Exposure (Penguin, 2012), the story of high-level Japanese whistleblower Michael Woodford.

Elysia is a social enterprise catering company making delicious breakfasts and canapés from artisan local food. We are committed to reducing food waste and giving more people access to high quality local products. In 2017, we saved more than 4 tonnes of artisan British food.
