Description

TPP Finance Breakfast Seminar

Our Finance seminar is on Cyber security with two guest speakers Brian Shorten, Chairman of Charities Security Forum and Iain Pritchard, Partner at Adapta Consulting.

Brian Shorten will be discussing:

What charities have to secure, how charities protect their assets, who would want to attack a charity and the problems with this, what is the impact of a data breach and what resources charities have to protect themselves

Iain Pritchard will be discussing:

Not so long ago it was really quite difficult to steal corporate information, adopt someone else`s identity or undermine the public perception of an organisation or an individual. Today, global access to electronic records means that organisations need to think seriously about the way they store and use information and about the appropriate protection that needs to be in place. In this session, Iain will highlight the pre-requisites for safeguarding your data and the measures that should be taken to ensure your security remains fit for purpose.

This is a free event so please make sure you register to attend. A member of the team will respond within 3 working days to confirm your place.

He holds an MSc degree in Information Security from the University of London, is a Fellow of the British Computer Society and a Freeman of the City of London.

Brian has written many articles and presented on many aspects of Information Security, especially for the charity/not for profit sector emplacing people rather than technology.

Iain Pritchard, Partner - Adapta Consulting

Iain specialises in information systems solutions for charities and other not-for-profit organisations. He has 30 years' experience in the industry, having started in a software house developing account package software, before training as a consultant with KPMG and then holding senior management positions both in charities, such as The Children's Society and The Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust, and in the commercial sector, where he was International Group IT Director for the Random House book publishing group. Most recently, he was partner with Sayer Vincent for over 10 years, where he left the information systems consultancy team which later became Adapta.

Iain draws on his deep and wide-ranging personal experience of the sector to guide charities to develop their own achievable strategies for information systems and technology. His technical background means that he is able to combine his full appreciation of the technical and commercial issues faced by suppliers with an understanding of the culture and context in which charities try to operate. Iain has helped The King's Fund, Girlguiding UK, Overseas Development Institute, Macmillan Cancer Support, Oxfam UK, Mencap, CAFOD, UNICEF UK, National Autistic Society, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity, Alzheimer's Society and many other organisations.
