Tracing Trees - Family friendly workshop, geared towards children
Come join us for a fun-filled morning of exploring nature at our Tracing Trees event. This workshop is perfect for families with children who love the outdoors. We'll be exploring our local landscape with artist Alastair Kwan and author of walks and guidebooks Jo Sinclair, and learning some fun facts about the trees around us.
Part guided walk, part hands on making; participants will learn about the local ecosystems and the homes within them, the process of recording the environment through frottage and will also having the opportunity to view Eddington's 430-year-old Veteran Oak up close. The event will start and end at the Storey’s Field Centre, and include the opportunity to take rubbings from the 430 year old Veteran Oak.
The workshop has been commissioned as part of the University of Cambridge’s public consultation programme for the future phases of the Eddington development. The workshop will inform the Public Art and Culture Strategy that is currently being developed by Company, Place, helping to shape ideas of how community, nature and art can come together.
