This training session is for members of Wimbledon Windmilers only
Track sessions are suitable for all paces/abilities and even if you are completely new to the track you are encouraged to apply for a place.
Ballot deadlines
The ballot will be drawn and groups assembled on Thursday afternoon so that you can make your plans for the week-end. Deadline for registration is mid-day.
If you need to decline the offer of a place please do so as soon as possible so it can be offered to another WIndmiler.
Venue Wimbledon Park Athletics Track, enter via the NORTH GATE.
Session Overview:
RAMP Warm-Up (Raise, Activate, Mobilise, Potentiate)
4 mins steady + 300m reps
4 mins tempo run; 3 mins jog recovery then 300m reps with 100m walk recovery.
Sub 20 min 5km: 12 x 300m / 100m walk recovery
20-25 min 5km: 10 x 300m / 100m walk recovery
More than 25 min 5km: 8 x 300m / 100m walk recovery
Aim for a consistent pace throughout despite growing fatigue.
Cool Down
Rules: Please observe the club’s 5 participant session rules (https://www.windmilers.org.uk/node/18127).
Toilets/Changing: The track toilets remain closed but the toilets in Wimbledon Park are open. Please arrive dressed ready to run.
Bag Drop:
Bags may be left in a zone designated for your particular group beside the track.
ICE: We ask that you wear or carry emergency contact details.
