Traditional Fire Lighting
Sun 9 April 2017, 10:00 – 15:00 BST
Get out in the open, back to nature and enjoy learning new skills.
Join Steve & Kirsty at their seaside workshop near Brighton to learn 3 different traditional methods of fire lighting, and cook your own lunch on the fire you made!!
The day will be divided into 3 sections:
Learn the ‘Strike a Light’ method using the modern carbon stick tool
Learn the more traditional, more difficult, Flint and Steel method.
For the very determined, learn the ancient Bow Drill method, including making your own bow drill to take home and use again and again.
As part of the Fire Lighting Day, you’ll also learn how to gather the proper materials for your fire, how to build a lasting fire and then we’ll cook up a delicious lunch on it too
