Event description

Description

Talk by Tanja Burlison on the work of the Traditional Quilt Group of the Quilters Guild of the British Isles.

The Traditional Quilt Group is a very inclusive band of patchworkers and quilters who have a wide variety of skills and techniques. Not for them the straw needle and candlelight – they use modern tools and make modern quilts but using traditional blocks, techniques and ideas whilst embracing the modern world to enable them to make more and more quilts.

This is a diverse group and quilts range from whole cloth to appliqué and complex piecing, from large bed sized quilts to small wall hangings and much more. Members work by both hand and machine to produce some stunning quilts. The talk will be illustrated with a selection of the smaller quilts produced by Group members

The Group has its own newsletter and a presence on social media.

This talk is FREE and takes place during the Dumfries & Galloway Quilt Festival for more details click HERE As places are limited we ask that you Register
