Scything is a fantastic way to maintain your wildflower and grass meadows.Not only is it better for the environment, it can also help to improve your own health and well being.
Some advantages of scything;

- It promotes mindfulness and let's you reconnect with nature
- It's a great group activity
On this outdoor workshop you will get hands on experience of how to use a scythe correctly. We will take you through the following;

- Meadow Management
- Raking & lifting
What to bring with you - Gloves, long trousers and stout footwear (we would recommend you tuck your trouser legs into your socks). We will be outside so please check the weather and dress accordingly.

Devon Meadows is located on the A908 just beside the Ochils Mountain Rescue Base. It is on Sustrans route 767. Also known as the Devon Way, National Cycle Network Route 767 is a fully traffic-free route following the old railway line between Alloa, Tillicoutry and Dollar. At the pedestrian crossing on the A908, follow the footpath through the woods until you reach the opening of the meadow.
How to find us - On the A908 at the pedestrian crossing you will see a footpath, follow the footpath through the small woodland area until you reach the opening of Devon Meadow.
