Event description

Description

When the Traditional Song Forum was founded, twenty years ago, there was a general view that the Internet and the growth of electronic media would lead to a reduction in the quantity of printed books and journals about traditional song. While there have been major changes in the production and retail of hard copy books, the flow of new books published has not decreased as much as had been feared. Indeed, digital printing technology and ‘print on demand’ processes have opened possibilities for writers and small, specialist publishers. For our April 2018 meeting the theme of the afternoon Forum Focus session will be ‘A Strange Survival – Putting Songs into Print’ and we will look at various aspects of publishing traditional song via the printed page and will include some case studies. The day will conclude with a question and answer session where we can explore issues related to print media and learn from the experience of TSF members with experience in the area.

The morning session will include the usual networking session. Full details available on the 'TSF News' page of the TSF website - www.tradsong.org.
