Trafford Unites: Tackling Social Isolation Together
Event Information
Description
Following the successful event, Trafford Unites: Interfaith and Community Networking event, we are delighted to announce, Trafford Unites: Tackling Social Isolation Together.
Social Isolation is defined as an objective measure of a lack of contact with family or friends, community involvement, integration or access to services. Socially isolated young people and adults can be vunerable to criminal exploitation or radicalisation.
Join us at Sale Waterside Arts Centre on 18th January 2019 at 13:00- 15:30 to examine how we can work together across sectors to make Trafford a more inclusive borough for those who experience social isolation.
We will bring together representatives from across our diverse communities, faiths, voluntary and public services to examine how we can build stronger social connections for the socially isolated in Trafford.
Taking into consideration the feedback we received after the last event, we will make sure that there will be more time for discussion around the following topics:
-
How socially isolated individuals could be vulnerable to criminal exploitation or radicalisation
-
Build resilience within socially isolated individuals
-
Understand what services and faith communities are currently doing in Trafford to tackle social isolation
-
How can we work together in the future to build stronger social connections?
We want to hear a wide range of opinions and views from Trafford’s diverse community. Every one of us has a role to play, and by working together we can tackle social isolation.
