Join us at St John’s Campus for a practical workshop exploring how to use trail cameras to monitor wildlife in the lead-up to Christmas. This session is open to anyone interested in learning how trail cameras work and how to plan a small-scale wildlife survey.
We’ll begin with a short introduction to trail cameras—covering how they detect movement, capture images, and can be used to monitor nocturnal or elusive species. Then we’ll head outdoors to scout potential camera locations around campus, looking for signs of animal activity and discussing how to choose effective placements.
Participants will also learn how to record and map camera locations using an ESRI app, helping to prepare for a longer-term survey over the Christmas period.
We’ll meet in the reception lobby of St John’s Campus, with a room to be confirmed closer to the time.
