Train as a Mentor with Ideas Foundation

Are you passionate about mentoring and helping young teenage minds grow? Join us for our online event led by award winning coach Kate Lander where you can train as a mentor with the Ideas Foundation! This is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference in the lives of aspiring creatives. Learn valuable skills, share your knowledge, and inspire the next generation of talent. We are looking for volunteers to be a role model and mentor and who are available to offer three online one hour one to one mentoring sessions from October to November 2024. The students are aged 16 - 19 studying level three qualifications in business and creative and media subjects including animation, film and tv, games design. There is an opportunity for face to face mentoring if you are able to visit the Mancester College campus.

The course will cover:

The role of a mentor and how to ensure safe conversations
How to support, motivate and empower young people through listening and goal focused coaching questions
Where to signpost young people for further careers support

Through mentoring you will not only give back but you will gain insights from the young people and an opportunity to support the education community.

The tutor for the session is Kate Lander, who has worked with the Ideas Foundation and The Manchester College. Kate is an award winning career coach, organisational development, leadership and management trainer. Katie is on the board of Access VFX and has worked for a range of industry companies from Brown Bag Films, Sage Publishing, Unite, and Blue Zoo Animation.

The course is free but we welcome donations to the Ideas Foundation to cover the costs of the training. All attendees will receive certificates.
