FORS - TRAIN THE TRAINER COURSE

Thank you for interest and commitment to attending the FORS Train the Trainer day, which we hope you will find very informative and useful in the necessary preparation to deliver FORS approved training. This training has been extensively researched and developed to be industry leading training, presented via the FORS scheme and therefore - it must be delivered to the highest quality standards.
The workshop aim is to improve the knowledge and skills of trainers to be fully conversant with the FORS Safe Urban Driving course (V0.2). On completion you should be able to demonstrate a level of competency to deliver the training objectives and learning outcomes. This will be assessed on the day through your presentations. Upon successful completion of the course, all delegates will be required to sign a licence agreement and then a Course Training Pack (CTP) will be issued.

1 Know the rules associated with delivery of approved DCPC training and how to record training hours on the recording and evidencing system • Explain the reasons, why, identity and previous training checks are needed
• Describe the rules associated with recording training hours
• Demonstrate how to complete a course registration form
2 Appreciate how the training instruction pack is structured and how it supports the training • Explain how each section supports the training journey
• List the supporting documents/annex’s in the pack
3 Improve training techniques to address diverse learning needs • Deliver a timed lesson/breakout session demonstrating trainer qualities
• Demonstrate a variety of suitable training methods to support learner development
• List the resources/techniques used for lesson confirmation
Who is it for?
The course is designed for existing trainers who wish to deliver FORS approved training.
The course focuses on improving trainer knowledge and skills, to deliver instruction to high quality consistent standards. FORS approved training is DCPC accredited and fully aligned to meet the requirements (where applicable) of - contractual Work Related Road Risk (WRRR).
The course will cover the following elements:
• Demonstrate the skills of a good trainer
• Explain the preparation required and why preparation is important to a group training session
• Identify types of visual aids that can be used in a group training session, and explain why these are important
• Explain how to increase participation in a group training session
• Explain the skills of good question and answer technique
• Describe the benefits of feedback and why feedback is important
As part of this training course you will be invited to deliver a 15/20-minute presentation on a subject of your choice. Your presentation should include an introduction, the main learning point/s and summary. IT equipment is available to support your presentation, but all delegates are required to bring their own printed materials (if required), along with their presentation on a USB. Please note that delegates who do not bring a presentation, will not be permitted to complete the course.
Your individual presentations will be assessed and scored to benchmark the quality standard of trainer instructional techniques, ensuring that the stipulated competencies to deliver FORS training have been demonstrated. All participants will receive constructive written feedback and results within five working days.
