FORS - TRAIN THE TRAINER

Individual Requirements for this training. You must:

  • Hold a valid full category C or D licence

  • Have no more than three driving licence penalty points

  • Hold a driver CPC - Driver qualification card

  • Have undertaken the Safe Urban Driving/Van Smart/Staying Legal course in the last 6 months

  • Have at least 2 years' experience in transport operations

Purpose

To make sure FORS approved courses are delivered in a consistent professional and positive manner and to develop, good rapport to adapt to the unique needs and challenges of the audience

Trainers who deliver FORS approved training.

Course overview

The course focuses on improving the knowledge and skills of trainers to deliver consistent training. FORS approved training is DCPC accredited and fully aligned to meet the requirements (where applicable) of:

  • Construction Logistics & Cyclist Safety (CLOCS) Standard
  • Contractual Work Related Road Risk (WRRR) requirements
  • Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) Silver level

Course objectives and learning outcomes:

In class theory

Objective: Learning outcome

1) Know the rules associated with delivery of approved DCPC training and how to record training hours on the DSA recording and evidencing system and TfL’s reporting portal

  • Explain the reasons, why, identity and previous training checks are needed
  • Describe the rules associated with recording training hours
  • Demonstrate how to complete a course registration form

2) Appreciate how the training instruction pack is structured and how it supports the training

  • Explain how each section supports the training journey
  • List the supporting documents/annex’s in
  • the pack

3) Improve training techniques to address diverse learning needs

  • Deliver a timed lesson/breakout session demonstrating trainer qualities
  • Demonstrate a variety of suitable training methods to support learner development
  • List the resources/techniques used for lesson confirmation

As part of this train the trainer course you will be required deliver a 20-minute presentation, on a subject of your choice. IT equipment will be set up for all the presentations that will be delivered that day.
