Train the Trainer in Every Leader!

Having time to develop a team within your line management responsibility is a common, but challenging, expectation of busy leaders. Factors that can prevent this happening are a lack of time, lack of knowledge on how to transfer experience and skill, and a lack of team engagement. This three day, dynamic, practical train the trainer course is suitable for all levels of Leadership in any sector or organisation, and has been designed with those obstacles in mind.

This relevant course has been broken down systematically so you can hit the ground running following attendance, and light a spark in your team’s performance. The theory is taken from the latest research in neuroscience helping us understand how to accelerate learning in a brain friendly environment, and the learning styles and techniques used to break down the information, concepts and models are delivered by a CIPD Learning & Development professional.

This combination will ensure that Leaders who are responsible for their teams training needs will learn how to deliver enlivening, inspiring and motivating material, whilst giving them simple usable skills, in order to make the training experience engaging and impactful.

Most of all, we will build ‘Leadership Confidence’ to change:

  • Team meetings into an opportunity to deliver learning

  • Job Shadowing into experimental learning

  • Performance reviews into development sessions

  • Communication meetings into learning discussions

You will come away with the skills and knowledge to communicate, engage and develop your teams within the line management responsibility.

Day One

The theory behind Brain Friendly Learning:

Conducting a Team Training Needs Analysis:

  • Why conduct one?

  • Determine your desired outcome

  • Linking employee behaviour with competencies

  • Identifying trainable competencies

  • Establishing the performance gap

  • How to prioritise training needs

  • Deciding on the right training methods

  • Conducting cost benefits

  • Planning for Evaluation

Writing Learning Objectives that link to competency/performance frameworks:

  • Meeting business need

  • Objective setting

  • Being clear

  • Understanding frameworks

Running the room effectively and using your Personal Style:

  • Understanding group dynamics

  • Identifying your personal training style and staying true to it

  • Working the room

  • Turning the volume up and down

  • Setting the tone

  • Keeping it real to exemplify your training work & stimulate neurons

  • Knowing how to treat those in the room

  • Dealing with difficult situations

  • Wrap up and review

Day Two

Break down a real work process, model or communication:

  • Leaders are encouraged to bring a real life situation to the training room for support and guidance on how to break it down into a short session and deliver it using the brain friendly methods and techniques from the course.

Adapt your style and material to suit the situation:

  • Work with a variety of learners in a live skills session

  • Discover your ability to actually see what's going on in the room

  • Knowing your own behaviour

  • Realising that everyone sees things differently

  • Seeing and dealing with sudden changes within your training environment

  • Undermining situations

Meet people's needs and expectations through design & delivery:

  • Writing well informed objectives & outcomes

  • Designing the theory, approach & exercises

  • Make learning interventions stick

Reading the room:

  • Absorbing information

  • The learning curve

  • Difference in ability

  • Stages of learning

  • Learning styles

  • Accurate questioning

  • Facilitating discussion

  • Giving valuable feedback

Day 3

The art of effective metric evaluation:

  • Understanding the use of metrics

  • Designing metrics to steer performance

  • Reading & feeding back the information

  • Making it all work when managing performance

Practical skills session:

  • Leaders are encouraged to put into practice their new skills

  • Deliver a short live skills session relevant to your workplace (Leadership Role)

  • Leader will receive in the moment feedback on their style and approach from a learners & observers perspective

All delegates will be issued with relevant hand-outs, photos, video’s and written report detailing their feedback from the live skills sessions for future review.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Yes if you contact the organiser via email to explain the changes.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Yes but again you must confirm this in email prior to the event taking place so the trainer is informed.
