This short-course qualification really gets to the heart of how to work well with students who have ADHD and ADHD-like behaviours.

 

You can be an accredited trainer in this subject, take back your expertise to your own school or college and deliver this training yourself.

Once completed, the content and resources from this training will give you and your school or college internal capacity for support and training with ADHD. 

With approximately 6% of the student population having an identified diagnosis of ADHD, it's important that we are meeting our responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010. Not to mention the reduction in stress for staff and increased success for students.

Accredited at Level 2 and Level 3 by OCN London

The programme is designed for all classroom-based staff, whether teaching or supporting.

The programme is in four learning outcomes, each of which have assessment criteria to be provided as evidence. 

  • Know what ADHD means
  • Be able to identify the impact that ADHD has on a person
  • Be able to modify the impact that ADHD has on learning
  • Be able to identify key principles of positive behaviour

Achieve this qualification through 14 guided learning hours, with a combination of independent study (pre-course reading), accessing a 30-minute webinar, one day in the training room and post-course evaluation.  All with full tutor support, guidance and feedback.

You'll receive all digital copies of course materials so that you can adapt/modify the resources to suit your own delivery.

To gain your the qualification, you will be required to complete sections of the workbook during the training day, which forms a major part of the assessment.  This will provide evidence of your knowledge and understanding of the subject which in turn helps you to be able to provide this training with confidence.

Due to the pre-course preparation requirement, registration for this course should be no later than 1 week prior to commencement of the course date.

Trainer

The trainer for this programme is Hilary Nunns. Hilary works extensively in education with students with ADHD, and is a recognised advanced practitioner and authority on managing ADHD in the mainstream classroom. 

The course content includes behaviour and classroom management techniques which benefits all students, not just those with ADHD.

Fees include all course resources and accreditation fees. You'll also meet like-minded people and can share ideas and resources with them, too. Not forgetting the luxury of refreshments all day and lunch.
