Train the Trainer provides the underpinning knowledge and practical experience to enable delegates to maximise learning opportunities whether in a 1:1 or delivering to groups in order to support the development of talent.
This course is ideally suited to any subject matter expert, leaders or managers and new or relatively inexperienced trainers looking to explore best practice and more experienced trainers/presenters looking to refresh themselves, enhance their skills and undergo continuing professional development (CPD).
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this workshop attendees will be able to:-
- Describe at least 3 attributes of a Learning Facilitator
- List at least 3 items that are essential when planning a Learning Event
- Label correctly Kolb & Fry’s Learning Cycle showing links to Learning Styles
- Give at least 2 examples for each of the 4 Learning Styles used by a Learning Facilitator to enhance the learning event
- Identify 4 learning preferences and give at least 2 examples of words or phrases used to enhance the learning event for individuals with each of the preferences
- Create an appropriately structured Session Plan for a topic you plan to deliver
- Plan and deliver a 2/3 introduction to a topic of your choice using at least 3 techniques for motivating and involving the learner.
- Write correctly at least one learning objective for the topic to be delivered
- Describe at least 2 questioning techniques to enhance learning and involve learners
- State at least 3 reasons why evaluation is an important element of a learning event
- State at least 3 ways in which you will ensure your Continuous Professional Development over the next 12 months and the benefit you expect to achieve from each
The final day includes an assessment through which attendees will be able to:-
- Plan and deliver a structured learning point on a topic of your choice, using an appropriate delivery method and at least 3 techniques for motivating and involving the learner
- Use at least 1 technique for dealing with learners’ questions effectively
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, including questioning and active listening
