Who are Calderdale & Kirklees Teaching School Hub?

We are the teaching school hub for Calderdale and Kirklees, connecting with and inspiring teachers and leaders in the region. Part of SHARE Multi Academy Trust, we provide high quality professional development for all stages of the teaching career - from first steps to expert practice.

We recruit and train new teachers to the profession through our outstanding Initial Teacher Training programme. Early career teachers are supported, guided and trained through our delivery of the Early Career Teacher Entitlement framework. Our Appropriate Body service ensures that all early career teachers registered with us receive their statutory entitlements. Through our National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) offer, experienced teachers and leaders, and aspiring leaders, can grow as expert practitioners and take the next step in their professional journey.

Who is this event for?

This event is for those interested in training to teach (primary or secondary) and those already in training and would like further guidance on the early career teaching stage of their journey.

Are you interested in becoming a teacher? Come along and chat with the Hub team about how to train to teach and the initial teacher training programme that we offer. You'll have the opportunity to meet some of our current and past trainees about their experience as well as members of the SHARE MAT team about their teaching career.

Are you currently training to teach and curious about the next stage? Our Early Careers team will be on hand to guide you through what happens after you qualify and expain how the Teaching School Hub can support you with training and development via the Early Career Teacher Entitlement framework and our Appropriate Body service. We can also offer advice and guidance on available early career opportunities with SHARE Multi Academy Trust. You don't have to be a current Hub trainee to attend - if you are currently training with another provider, you're more than welcome to attend.
