About this event

If you're a freelance trainer in the Falkirk or surrounding areas come and join us for a morning of business and self development at our Trainer Talk Local event.

This event is run by our Scotland Local Leader, Alison Cassidy.

What Is Trainer Talk?

Trainer Talk is a membership community for freelance trainers, a one-stop shop for business growth. We attract trainers who are serious about growing their business with the support of like minded people who are usually experiencing the same challenges! Freelance training can be lonely. It needn't be!

Trainer Talk Locals are fun, friendly, collaborative and inspiring events which we run at various locations across the UK.

A Local is a great opportunity to:

  • Connect with other freelance trainers in your area
  • Discuss your business challenges - and get solutions from people who understand!
  • Learn something new which will help you get more clients or improve your delivery skills
  • Get access to opportunities
  • Get help and support to grow your business

Our attendees love spending time with people who “get” what they do, the challenges, the excitement and the struggles. Being in a safe place to share ideas and help problem solve has been a big motivator to come again.

Open to Both Members and Non-Members

If you're not already a member of Trainer Talk, this is also a great way to get a taster of our vibrant and supportive community - of which we are very proud!

What To Expect at Trainer Talk Local - Friday 7 November, 2025

9.30 - 9.50 - Cuppa and Curiosity Cards: Warm welcome

9.50 - 10.00 - Today’s masterplan

10.00 - Hot Topic: Unlocking creativity in our learning (with Guest Speaker - Gus Gray)

As trainers, facilitators, and learning designers, we’ve all had moments where the spark feels a little…dim. Maybe your go-to activities are feeling tired. Maybe your audience seems harder to engage. Maybe you are craving something fresher, bolder, or more you.

We'll peel back the layers that cover the creative instinct we all have and explore how we can rediscover our creativity so that we can deliver training that stands out and sticks!

This will be a hands-on session to rediscover your creative instinct with practical tools and inspiration from Gus Gray (see below for further information about Gus).

11.00 - 11.15 Comfort break

11.15 - 11.35 Trainer Talk Scotland: Shape the future of us. Reflect, connect, and co-create.

11.35 - 12.00 Move, connect and solve: A place to share your Highs, Hiccups and Hopes.

12.00 - 12.30 Wrap up & postcards: Share takeaways and set intentions.

12.30 - Feel free to join us for a bite of lunch in Finnegans (the café downstairs, at attendees own cost) or head away and we will see you next time.

About Your Local Leader Alison Cassidy

Hello! I’m Alison Cassidy – your Trainer Talk Local Leader for Scotland.

I’m the founder of AHC Learning, where I design and deliver leadership development programmes that are bold, playful, and grounded in real-world impact. Think LEGO bricks, flipcharts, big questions, and moments of real magic – all with a focus on growing confident, compassionate leaders at every level.

After a career in financial services and manufacturing (with some public sector and personality profiling thrown in), I’ve been freelance since 2012 and I know what it’s like to juggle delivery, business development, and trying to find time for a proper cuppa! Trainer Talk has been the one place I come back to again and again – for connection, challenge, and community. It’s where I’ve found the people who just get it.

When I’m not coaching or facilitating, you might find me volunteering with young people, experimenting with LEGO Serious Play, or figuring out how to sneak Disney or Pixar references into my workshops (it happens more than you’d think…).

I’m so excited to bring Trainer Talk Local to Scotland to create a space where facilitators, trainers, coaches and learning professionals can connect, share, and grow together.

Please connect via LinkedIn to find out more about me or to get in touch.

Whether you’re just starting out or an experienced pro, you’ll be very welcome. Come join us – we’re building something brilliant up here!

Alison 💜
