Are you the 'go to person for safeguarding' in your group or organisation?

Maybe you are the Safeguarding Lead, Safeguarding Officer, Designated Person for Safeguarding, Welfare Officer or Designated Safeguarding Officer?

Have you attended Designated Person for Safeguarding training in the past 3 years?

This course is an exciting opportunity for all voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) staff and personnel with responsibility for safeguarding in their respective organisations to further their understanding of the principles required to be the designated person (DP) for safeguarding.


Course Details

The role of DP for Safeguarding is a challenging one, but is vital in protecting your organisation, its staff and volunteers and the people you work with. This face to face training session will:

* Give you an understanding of the role and responsibilities of the DP

* Increase your competence and confidence in decision making with regard to safeguarding concerns

* Help you to engage with your local safeguarding board and their priorities

* Identify the support needs of staff and volunteers in your organisation

PLEASE NOTE: In order to attend this training you need to have attended an introductory training session for safeguarding adults and children in the past 3 years.


About the Trainer:

Caroline Friend is based in the North East, with more than 20 years experience of the third sector and many years of experience as a safeguarding trainer. She has also held the position of Designated Person (DP) for Safeguarding in a number of voluntary sector organisations.
