Event description

Description

After the success of our introduction to early years training session in June, we’re running it again!
Now with an added repertoire sharing session in the afternoon.

Attend one or both parts:
• Part 1: £25
• Part 2: £20
• Part 1 + 2: £40 (lunch included)

Led by Greenwich Music School director and head of early years music Bethan Scolding, this is an interactive and informative session on delivering music education for babies and toddlers aged 0-4.

Part 1: An introduction to teaching music in the early years
10.30am-1pm

The session will cover:

Finding great songs and rhymes and how to use them to actively promote musical learning and creative play.
Planning a session (formal or informal) that keeps babies and toddlers engaged
Introducing percussion instruments and props
Performing and improvising with your own instrument or voice
Suitable for all early years practitioners, and for musicians interested in developing their skills in early years music education.

Part 2: Repertoire sharing session
2-4pm

Expand your song and activity repertoire in this guided sharing session. Participants can bring a song or activity to share and develop, or browse our library of books and resources as we work together to develop ideas, share best practice and expand the repertoire we draw on to teach!

Those new to early years teaching are advised to attend part 1 as well.
