Event description

Description

Facebook is the largest social media network in the world with more than 2 billion people using it to connect with family, friends, businesses and their community, including charities and community organisations. It offers specific tools and ideas to engage people in your cause and amplify your goals.

This practical three hour course will provide an overview of how causes are using Facebook to connect with existing and new supporters and give you the skills you need to start creating and sharing compelling content.

You’ll learn:

  • to set up your Facebook page

  • to use groups and events to connect with your supporters

  • to manage your page with limited resources

  • top tips on starting to plan your Facebook strategy

Outcomes:

By the end of the session you’ll know how to:

    • Recognise how charities and community organisations are using Facebook for good

    • Explain the difference between a Page, Group and Profile

    • Create and customise your organisation’s page on Facebook – including adding a cover photo and profile photo

    • Use the different elements of Facebook including Timelines, Events and Groups

    • Post and highlight content, including links, photos, audio and video

    Who is this course for?

This workshop is ideal for staff or volunteers who want to find out how their organisation could use Facebook. No prior knowledge is needed. It will start from the basics of setting up a Page and creating content.

It is not appropriate for someone who has been using Facebook for a while or wants to use their existing page more effectively.

You will need to have a personal Facebook account or be willing to set one up to be able to participate in this course.

If you are unsure if this is the right session for you, please get in touch before booking.
