Ellis Brigham Knowledge Nights are all about sharing our outdoor experience. Along with guest speakers and partners, we will give you the tools you need to tackle your next adventure. From tips and tricks on getting the most out of your gear to advice on destinations and preparing for your next expedition. We will cut through the jargon and give you no-nonsense advice.

Training for a mountain ultra isn’t just about miles — it’s about mindset, strategy, and adventure.

Join Charlie for an evening where practical wisdom meets powerful storytelling. He’ll share the lessons, tools, and experiences that have shaped his journey — and can help shape yours. Expect to explore:

  • Training strategies that build strength and endurance
  • Nutrition approaches that fuel both body and mind
  • Mental resilience when the trail feels endless
  • Course-specific insights to tackle the unexpected
  • Gear, footcare, and recovery essentials
  • Plus space for your own questions and challenges

For over 15 years, Charlie from Beyond Ultra has sought out wild places and big adventures — from Inner Mongolia to the mountains of Kyrgyzstan. His path has led him into ultra running, multi-day expeditions, and service as a search-and-rescue volunteer. In May of 2025 he completed Wild Horse 200, a 200 mile non-stop race acroos Wales.

Charlie brings a mix of experience, humility, and energy that makes the world of ultra running feel possible — even exciting. You might just leave the room believing your first 100-miler is closer than you think.
