Trance Dance

with Live music from Touch The Earth

Music In The Moment:

Sounds will weave, and drums will call, deeply connecting one and all. To blend to dance to shape to form, to dance in freedom newly born.

Touch the Earth are accomplished musicians and combined with shamanic skills from their shamanic roots they weave a tapestry of sounds and rhythms to take the dancer into a place of bliss and oneness.

Dance upon the Mother Earth

Sunrays of light, a beam in which the dancer is bathed

No sound can the dancer hear for all is in the stillness of time

Only the rhythm of the heartbeat drums

As together all becomes one in the dance

Connected, feeling every blade of grass, every cloud,

Breath of warm gentle breeze as the dancers are kissed by the spirit of the wind

At one with the dance, at one with a moment in time

A time past and gone

Held in the heart forever

As the dancer become the dance

As the dancer become the music

At one with all, within and with out

This is a participation only workshop, if you have mobility problems you can dance sitting. Onlookers will be asked to leave.

This workshop is not suitable for children.

Touch the Earth are a Tribal Folk Band who play music and songs inspired by the natural world around them. their music has been described as: ‘A vibration of pure energy gathers one up, the flutes, violin, guitar, didge, drummers and singers are part of this surrealism – the essence is pure spirit.’ – The Holistic Channel

They are unique in their instruments and approach to performance, in addition to the more traditional Guitar, Fiddle and Voice they also use Big Double skinned Drums, Djembe, Didgeridoo’s, Native American style flutes and the 5ft Fujara: a Slovakian shepherds flute which creates otherworldly soundscapes. Their concerts are a mixture of songs, ballads and improvised pieces which frequently take the listeners imagination to the wild places of this land.

The nucleus of the band is Lynn Gosney and her son Lee Gosney-Hunt. Mother and son started making music together and gradually drew other musicians to them to form the band Touch the Earth. After a number of line-up changes the band have settled on the current line up with Lee’s wife - Gillian Hunt, good friends Pete Maxey and Lewis Skinner, completing the band. The full line-up is as follows:

Lynn Gosney: Vocals, Native American Flute, Hand drum, Double skinned Drum, Didge

Lee Gosney-Hunt: Guitar, Vocals, Native American Flute, Fujara, Hand drum, Double skinned Drum, Djembe, Didge, Banjo

Gillian Hunt: Double skinned Drum, Djembe, Bodhran, Didge, Mayo drum, Vocals,
