Description

A full programme of competitive activities for Year 9 and 10 students, centred around STEM and various exciting fields of engineering.


Schools are invited to select and send a single teacher and a team of 6No. students (which may be mixed). The event is entirely free of charge, however places are limited.


The programme for Friday 21st will include:

  • Warm-up icebreaker session
  • Team-based collaborative activity
  • Hands-on workshop run by Learn by Design
  • Free lunch
  • Panel debate between inspiring professionals from varied engineering backgrounds
  • Engineering fair, supported by membership and outreach officers from several engineering institutions
  • Awards ceremony


This event is being run for International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) 2019. INWED is an international awareness campaign, delivered by Women's Engineering Society, which seeks to raise the profile of women in engineering and which focuses attention on the amazing career opportunities available to girls in this exciting industry. INWED is also a celebration of outstanding achievements of women engineers throughout the world.
