An interactive evidence based workshop providing awareness into our unconscious biases and subsequently creating actions to transform them.

About this Event

Join us on Saturday 15th June at 10.30 am for a half day, 2 - part workshop, first looking at bringing awareness to our unconscious biases and subsequently creating actions to transform them into a productive strategy to overcome them.

Why should you attend?

Using interactive evidence-based exercises and information grounded in psychology, this workshops aims to provide a safe space to bring awareness of our unconscious biases. Once we are aware, the second part of the master class aims to take action and overcome our unconscious biases by creating a strategy related to our own professional or personal context. Additionally, we will use positive psychology coaching in order to reinforce the learning and strategy to facilitate transformational change.

• Part 1: Unconscious Bias Awareness – 10.30am – 12pm

• Break – 12 pm – 12.15pm

• Part 2: Unconscious Bias Action – 12.15pm - 2pm

This workshop is open to HR professionals, recruiters, business psychologist and anyone with an interest in learning about there own unconscious biases.

Facilitators

Derin Bamgbelu

Derin (MBPsS, MSc ) is a business psychologist who applies psychology to issues, specifically in the areas of learning, training and development, and diversity and inclusion. She is a member of the British Psychological Society and graduated from the University of Hertfordshire with an MSc in Occupational Psychology (with Distinction). Her thesis titled “Women in leadership: A case study of unconscious gender bias and barriers of implementing effective training” provided useful insight into unconscious bias and the effectiveness of training. Outside of her work in learning and development, Derin host frequent free webinars on unconscious bias to promote awareness. In light of her knowledge and research of unconscious bias, Derin aims to use this information to design a masterclass that is insightful and ignites change.

Tia Moin

Tia (MISCP, MABP, MBPsS) is a coaching psychologist with over 15 years of experience in talent management. She operates with a deep understanding of personality, strengths, and values and combines this with evidence-based coaching and applied positive psychology to help individuals discover their potential and become their true, best selves. Tia is passionate about supporting diversity and inclusion in organisations and is currently researching the link between positive psychology coaching and bias as part of her MSc in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology. She brings with her an understanding of how to facilitate transformational change in individuals through coaching.
