Event description

Description

We are delighted to invite you to our annual social pedagogy event organised jointly by the Social Work departments of Queens University and Ulster University with Oslo Metropolitan University, Norway.

This year we will be exploring the transformative potential of storytelling. Everyone has stories to tell - of ordinary, and some extraordinary experiences. In this interactive workshop we will find out how storytelling has the potential to bring new perspectives, facilitate change, and build relationships based on shared humanity. We will reflect on how we might incorporate stories into our work to promote more empowering practice. Friends from Belfast and Oslo will introduce us to a variety of skills for sharing our own stories and helping others to tell theirs:

Jan Støro – Oslo Met – using film in teaching

Elisabeth Grønning – Oslo Met - telling stories through puppetry

Svein Fuglestad - Oslo Met - telling stories through music

Montse Fargas - Queens University Belfast – storytelling with tenx9 and care experienced young people
