This event raises awareness of out of hospital healthcare services for children and young people (CYP). HLP has supported the development of standards for out of hospital care of CYP which are aimed at commissioners and providers of out of hospital services for CYP. The event will support the dissemination of learning from the Compendium: New Models of Care for Acutely Unwell CYP and to raise awareness in relation to new models of care for CYP more widely.

An exciting element of the day will be a marketplace exhibition of the organisations that were showcased in the Compendium, allowing you an opportunity to understand how the services were developed and explore the learning and possible pitfalls.

Out of hospital standards – Michelle Johnson, Director of Nursing (Babies, Children and Young People) Barts Health
Results of an analysis of over 3000 ED CYP patients - what it tells us about how CYP use ED, and what would be better – Prof Russell Viner, UCL Institute of Child Health
New models of care for mental health – Dr Ann York, Clinical Advisor in Children and Young People's Mental Health at HLP
Making better use of pharmacy – Donal Markey, Lead for Dental, Optometry & Pharmacy Primary Care Commissioning (London), NHS England

We are excited to hold this event at LIFT, Islington Council's healthy living hub for young people. LIFT is a Community Interest Company and is funded by Islington Council and through income generated by hiring out the spaces to local businesses and organisations.
