“Productivity (GVA per head of population) is a topical issue for the region. The Midlands Engine Prospectus highlights that ‘productivity in the Midlands Engine region is around 10% below the national average’ with GVA per worker at £46,310, some £7,000 below the national average. The causes of this productivity gap are complex, but one tangible area known to greatly affect productivity within individual businesses is in people management.” Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce April 2016
