The Transition Chesterfield Clothes-Wise project is all about clothing sustainability! And what's the most sustainable clothing? It's the things you already have in your wardrobe! - plus pre-loved finds from charity shops or clothes-swaps.
So we'll be looking at how we can give garments a new lease of life by mending, altering and up-cycling. Plus we are challenging people to get creative and "Do Denim Differently", turn "Curtains to Couture" and show us their best vintage treasures. There will be talks, demonstrations and a catwalk show run by Clothes-Wise volunteers, plus any guests who'd like to proudly show off their creations. Our community project, the "Cape of Good Hope" will also play a starring role thanks to donations of scrap denim from the Salvation Army store.
Tickets are free and must be booked before the event.
Transition Chesterfield is an organisation whose volunteers run many environment-focused projects locally and we'll be collecting donations on the night.
Refreshments will be available on arrival and at the interval.
