Esta tierra es mía
Land ownership and agrarian injustice have been long-standing issues in Spanish history. During the Transition, cinema helped to bring these questions back into public debate:Who works the land? Who lives on it? Who profits from it? And where does the wealth it generates actually go?
These questions not only shaped the political and cultural imagination of the Transition, but continue to resonate today—connecting directly with ongoing debates about rural life, depopulation (la España vaciada), and extractivism.
One of the most striking films in this section is a powerful underground documentary that exposes the harsh realities of rural life under Franco’s regime. Filmed in secret in Galicia and Andalusia, it gives voice to exploited agricultural workers and has since become a landmark in militant and resistance cinema.
📽️ The film will be shown in Spanish with English subtitles.
