Join the newly reformed Transition Walthamstow for a screening of the powerful climate documentary "Once You Know" by Emmanuel Cappellin.
About this event
Emmanuel Cappellin's beautiful documentary takes us along on his journey as he grapples with the enormity of the unfolding climate and ecological crisis. Sobering truths are explored with leading climate and energy experts, creative and vibrant resistance is enacted with the climate movement, and front line communities share the insight, fortitude and mindset that comes from living a life already disrupted by the changed and changing climate.
This film is an invitation to ask the big questions, what do we do with this knowledge? What is it to be a human in these times? While not shying away from the sobering reality of what we stand to lose, it also charts a path forward that calls to the very best of our humanity; community, courage, compassion, creativity and even celebration.
Join us on Friday the 22nd of July at Gnome House, Blackhorse Rd for a screening of this award winning film, followed by a guided discussion, hosted by the newly reformed Transition Walthamstow.
Transition Walthamstow is coming out of hiatus, with the aim of bringing together those of us in our community who wish to rethink, reimagine and rebuild a future that is low carbon, socially just and caring. The Transition Network is growing, find out more about it here.
