Mobile phone apps, also used on tablets, are becoming increasingly popular. LRG member, Daniela

Ford, will talk about this new and growing area and present some of the challenges associated with

this very interesting field and translation opportunity. Originally intended for email, calendar and

contact data bases, apps have expanded into areas such as games, factory automation, GPS and

location-based services , order tracking, and ticket purchases. Daniela will explain how to identify

localisable strings from code and how to translate them.

Participants will work on exercises in small groups; for this exercise, those who translate into English

can translate into their source language(s).
