Transport for London Technology Innovation Conference
Wednesday, 26 February 2014 from 08:30 to 16:30 (GMT)
Technological innovation is crucial to the smooth running of the world’s largest integrated public transport network.
In late 2013 TfL published its revised 10 year business plan for nearly £20billion worth of investment in better stations, more reliable services, and of course a new 24-hour underground service from 2015. TfL recognises that Crossrail and the Northern line extension, alongside the breadth of on-going improvements to London’s transport network, will require more strategic and collaborative relationships with innovators across the UK and beyond.
This conference will see the launch of our new Technology Innovation Portal, and TfL will reveal some of the opportunities that our transport ambitions will create. You will meet TfL’s leading decision makers and be given opportunities to discuss the innovation required across our network to deliver a transport system for the 21st century.
This event will present an opportunity for innovators to hear about our most pressing technological challenges and meet our leading decision makers.
Many of the most exciting breakthroughs come through collaborative partnerships, and this event is the perfect opportunity to share ideas.
The mission of the Transport community on the Knowledge Transfer Network is to support the development of integrated, efficient and sustainable transport systems, by bringing together independent but interrelated organisations to stimulate innovation through knowledge transfer.
The KTN strategy is driven by market demand and supply-chain innovation; our work and programme priorities are set by the need for additionality, relevance, and neutrality. Winthin the transport community, we aim to break down traditional silo thinking and encourage knowledge, skills and technology exchange within the domains of Intelligent Mobility and Energy Efficiency.
We help focus TSB investment, and manage stand-alone programmes to better exploit technology to improve transport and transport infrastructure in the UK and overseas.
