About this event

Transport for the North Annual Conference 2021

Monday 20 September 2021

The Queens Hotel, New Station Street, City Square, Leeds, LS1 1PJ

THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT - PLEASE REGISTER FOR OUR WAITLIST TO BE KEPT UP TO DATE IN THE EVENT THAT MORE TICKETS ARE RELEASED

We're looking forward to you joining Transport for the North's third Annual Conference event, taking place in The Queens Hotel, Leeds.

We'll be discussing how we can accelerate economic recovery from the pandemic and how we can encourage people in the region to return to public transport, whilst also considering the infrastructure investment needed to deliver greener, more efficient transport solutions into the future.

Our Decarbonisation Strategy, now launched for consultation, will be a focus for our journey as the North ambitiously seeks to reach near zero carbon emissions for surface transport by 2045.

In addition to new active travel networks and electric vehicle infrastructure, Northern Powerhouse Rail and HS2 remain major components for delivering green, modern and reliable transport networks.

The Integrated Rail Plan has the potential to deliver a sea change in how people and businesses travel and trade, and we will be revisiting our vision for the network, put forward by Northern Leaders, that we need to level up the North for decades to come.

In a year when we have seen the announcement of major railway reform by the Government, we will also consider how industry can better deliver for passengers in the North, as set out in our Northern Transport Charter, and how industry working with local partners will deliver a more positive passenger experience.

Both Transport for the North and The Queens Hotel are following official government guidance and can reassure guests that we are taking all necessary health and safety protocols to keep everyone safe during the event.
