Trauma & Addiction

Many people turn to coping strategies - including substance use - when the pain of trauma feels overwhelming. In this 2.5-hour online session, we’ll explore how trauma and addiction are linked, why substances can feel so compelling, and how recovery is about more than coping: it’s about healing.

Created with survivors of Mother and Baby Homes, Magdalene Laundries, and Workhouses in mind, this training is also valuable for those supporting survivors or working in similar contexts.

This is the final part of our Trauma-Informed Taster Series: Understanding Healing Across the Lifespan. Attend it on its own, or join the whole series for a fuller picture of trauma and healing.
