Trauma and Attachment day – Refresher

This introduction is a good starting point to explore Trauma and Attachment, helping your journey of adopting a relational inclusive approach. It covers: ACEs, trauma, attachment, the nervous system, neuroception, the hand model of the brain, active listening, polyvagal theory and window of tolerance. We also cover the impact of shame, and the importance of rupture and repair. This explores the ‘why’ a change of approach is necessary. Encouraging staff to be aware of what’s beneath the behaviour.

Staff will leave the session with more confidence to manage challenging situations and also more knowledge not only of trauma, but how trauma impacts people explicitly and implicitly.
