Event Information
About this Event
Lots of children experience trauma or 'Adverse Childhood Experiences' (ACEs) in their early years, but how does this affect their development and impact their lives?
We are delighted to have Specialist Occupational Therapist (Advanced Practitioner) Lauren Davitt from Children's Therapy Solutions join us for an evening of learning all about Trauma and Sensory Attachment.
We will cover...
- What are traumatic experiences for children?
- How traumatic experiences in a child's life can impact the child's foundation sensory systems
- How trauma can affect a child's physical, social and emotional development impacting their access to play and learning opportunities
- How can play help?
- How can an OT support parents to learn how to activate and inhibit a child's arousal levels in a fun, safe, secure and nurturing way, appropriate to the child's sensory attachment needs
- What are the different attachment types?
- What strategies can we use to help?
As always, there will be plenty of opportunity to ask your questions, so be sure to bring them with you to the webinar.
