Aim:

Learning Objectives:
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  1. Define developmental trauma and understand its unique impact on childhood development and long-term health outcomes.
  2. Describe how trauma affects the developing brain and nervous system, including key stages of brain development and basic neuroanatomy.
  3. Explain the relationship between trauma, the body, and survival responses including how the body stores traumatic memory and responds to threat.
  4. Identify how trauma-related behaviours emerge from underlying biological and neurological adaptations.
  5. Apply trauma-informed approaches rooted in neuroscience, biology, and relational frameworks to support safer, more effective practice.

Our vision is for a society in which violent systems are replaced by ones that produce social justice.

Our mission is to contribute to the transformation of systems that generate violence and perpetuate cycles of trauma, so that fewer people are harmed.

We do this by:

  • Providing training, reflective practice, resources, and support for professionals, leaders and decision-makers.
  • Supporting policymakers and funders with research and consultion towards legislation that reduces violence.
  • Highlighting harmful institutional practice, while offering solutions and space for collaboration
