Welcome to Hidayah’s Everyday Allyship Training Series, our short sessions are created to provide individuals and organisations the tools to better support Queer Muslims across all areas of life.

In our third session, we will explore how trauma and distress can affect Queer Muslims, and learn practical ways to provide safe and culturally competent support.


Learning Outcomes

  • Understand how trauma and distress can affect Queer Muslims
  • Apply trauma-informed approaches to real-life scenarios involving Queer Muslims
  • Strengthen cultural competency by learning how to rebuild trust and address power imbalances

    Who should attend?
  • Counsellors, therapists, and wellbeing practitioners
  • Migrant & refugee support workers (especially LGBTQI+ asylum seekers)
  • NHS staff and other health professionals
  • HR, DEI, and workplace wellbeing professionals
  • Charity sector staff, including wellbeing services (e.g., MIND, Switchboard, Elop) and LGBTQI-specific services (e.g., LGBT Health and Wellbeing)
  • Health and wellbeing staff networks (private sector)
  • Anyone from non-professional backgrounds who wants to learn about inclusive, trauma-informed practice

Location: Online (Zoom)

Date & Time: This 1.5-hour session will be offered twice:

  • Thursday, 13th November -12:00 –13:30
  • Tuesday, 18th November - 14:00–15:30
