Trauma Informed Practice Level 2 Workshop

Trauma Level 2 course is for staff with direct and frequent contact with people who may be survivors. It is assumed that you have learnt at an introductory level about trauma through the Level 1 workshop or equivelant similar courses. In Health in Mind, this course is for all staff who are working directly supporting people.
In the National Trauma Training Framework this course is at the Skilled Practice Level.
Aim (draft - will be clarified as course is developed)
To be able to develop working relationships based on trauma-informed principles of trust, collaboration, choice, empowerment and safety.
For workers to gain an understanding of the impact of trauma for different populations, life stages and types.
For workers to be able to recognise when an individual requires psychological first adi and be able to facilitate its delivery.
To recognise when an individual or dependents are experiencing harm linked to discrimination.
Staff will learn the current guidence and protocols for assessing and managing risk
Workers will learn ways for appropriate trauma-informed ways of supporting disclosure.
Workers will learn about their own responses and reactions to trauma and how to look after themselves.
Workers will learn about the options for care, support and therapy to support individuals.
Staff will learn about the successful recovery and fulfilling lives of persons affected by trauma
Jean Budge has worked for Health in Mind’s Trauma Services for nine years, the last four as a supervisor. Trauma Services is a specialist service providing support to adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
Terms and conditions
This course is at the Arthur Conan Doyle Centre, which is a bright venue with a cafe in the building, the course teas, coffee throughout the day. It is not fully accessible for wheelchair users, please contact us if you need us to relocate. If you have specific dietry requirements please contact us.

If you need to cancel your booking and give more than two weeks’ notice, we will refund your payment in full. If you cancel with less than two weeks’ notice, we will refund 50% of your fee.
