About this event
Welcome to Trauma-Informed Restorative Yoga at The Wild Box
Join us for a gentle, restorative practice that supports both body and mind. This session is rooted in the belief that healing happens when we feel safe, seen, and empowered. With a trauma-informed approach, we create a supportive space that honours your pace and choices.
Through calming yoga postures, deep relaxation, and mindful awareness, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with your body, release tension, and nurture inner peace. The practice is guided with invitational language and an emphasis on options, helping you explore what feels right for you in each moment.
This class is open to all levels—whether you are new to yoga or experienced in your practice. Our trauma-informed teacher will guide you with care, compassion, and respect for your unique journey.
An initial assessment, included in your Eventbrite ticket, is required before attending your first session to ensure the practice is safe and responsive to your needs.
We look forward to welcoming you into this space of rest, resilience, and renewal.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. An initial assessment is required before attending your first session. This helps ensure that the practice is safe, supportive and responsive to your unique needs and experiences. The assessment is confidential, trauma-sensitive, and involves a conversation and questionnaire.
The assessment is completed in two steps: first, a confidential online form to gather background information, then a supportive video or phone call to discuss your needs and goals. This ensures the practice is safe, trauma-sensitive, and tailored to you.
No. The assessment fee is included in your Eventbrite ticket, so there’s no additional cost.
Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and allows you to move freely. Your comfort is the priority.
No. You are never required to talk about your trauma - not with the yoga teacher or with other participants. Trauma-informed yoga is about creating a safe and supportive space for you to reconnect with your body at your own pace.
Yes, we allow up to 10 minutes after each session for questions, reflection, or check-in with the yoga teacher. Additional support or follow-up can also be arranged if needed.
You're welcome to bring your own mat and any props you prefer (like blocks, bolsters, or a blanket), but we also provide all necessary equipment.
We understand that things happen. If you arrive a few minutes late, please enter quietly and settle in when you're ready. For the safety and flow of the group, we may close the session after a certain point , so we encourage arriving 10 minutes early if possible.
Yes, the space is designed with accessibility in mind, but some areas may be challenging for manual wheelchairs. The facility is designed to be inclusive, and while most areas are accessible, some tight spaces may require alternative routes or assistance for manual wheel chairs.
You are always in choice during the session. If you need to pause, rest, or leave the room at any point, you are absolutely welcome to do so. You know your body and your experience best - your autonomy is respected at all times.
