Trauma Informed Working - Women experiencing Multiple Disadvantage

About this event

This training is designed to help you understand how trauma can affect women experiencing Multiple Disadvantage and how a trauma-informed work practice can create better outcomes for all.

This is the second of two training sessions. We recommend you also attend our Domestic Abuse Awareness training, more details can be found HERE.

This session will:

  • Identify the basics of trauma, the 'window of tolerance' and grounding techniques helpful for women experiencing Multiple Disadvantage.
  • Discuss how our brains respond to threat and harm and how that relates to the lived experience of women.

This training is appropriate for professionals working alongside women experiencing Multiple Disadvantage in East Sussex and Brighton & Hove.

Multiple Disadvantage refers to people with two or more of the following issues: mental health issues, homelessness, offending and substance misuse. This affects mental health which can lead to issues such as homelessness, substance misuse and offending.
