This workshop will delve in the relatively new concept of post-traumatic growth. The idea of Post Traumatic Growth (PTG) is that survivors of traumatic events cannot only heal from their trauma, but may grow into a stronger, more driven, and more resilient person because of their trauma.
PTG can be understood as positive change resulting from an individual’s struggle with a major life crisis or traumatic event. PTG is conceptualised to correspond with five stages within: Personal Strength; Life Appreciation; Relating to Others with Greater Intimacy and Compassion; New Possibilities; Spiritual Changes. During this workshop we will examine how individuals who have been affected by trauma can go on to experience growth and wisdom.
