Trauma & PTSD Postgraduate Diploma 2024 (Accredited by NCIP)

This postgraduate level course is one of the longest-running trauma/PTSD courses in the UK. It has been constantly updated and extended and has been running continuously since 2012.

The course addresses theory, assessment, effective treatment strategies, and comorbidities for simple (type I) and complex (type II) traumas. Included are modules on safety and stabilisation, emotion regulation, four trauma processes, traumatic nightmares, and working with children. Participants will become proficient in delivering a clear, systematic, comprehensive and flexible trauma process.

The course contains a selection of evidence-based trauma processing approaches, including in-depth practice of imagery rescripting for complex trauma. Comprehensive notes include an impressive toolkit of techniques that will be practised throughout the course.

This 22-day course is held on 11 weekends, one weekend each month (with no meeting in August).

Trauma supervision is an integral part of the course and continues until April 2025. Supervision takes place once a month, typically on a Thursday afternoon or evening.

The main lecturer is Lucia Hall, MSc, who is a psychological therapist, mental health practitioner, European psycho-traumatologist, lecturer, supervisor, clinical hypnotherapist and EMDR therapist. She is an expert in treating trauma, PTSD and the conditions that so often accompany them, such as anxiety, depression, and nightmares. Lucia is a member of many professional bodies including APA, BACP (MBACP), EMDR UK, NCIP, ISTSS, CNHC and the PSA accredited register. She is a fellow of NCIP for her contributions to the field of counselling and psychotherapy. She is USA citizen who has lived in the UK for over 20 years with her British husband.
