About this event
About this event:Trauma Sensitive Mindfulness sessions at Canolfan Dewi Sant Centre - Pensarn (Bistro room)
The session is lead by an experienced mental health pharmacist who is trained in trauma sensitive mindfulness meditation.
No prior experience necessary.
You will be lead through a series of relaxing meditations and mindfulness activities which have sound scientific evidence showing positive benefits to the brain and improved health outcomes for stress, anxiety, depressions, PTSD, chronic pain and fatigue conditions.
Practiced regularly, mindfulness calms the nervous system releasing 'feel-good' hormones and releasing you from the internal negative 'chatter' of modern life.
Starting Monday 24th January £5 per session.
We will be running these sessions every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month and you have a choice of 2 sessions
✅ 12:30 to 13:30 or ✅ 14:00 to 15:00
Both sessions will cover the same ground so don't worry, you won't be missing anything.
Class etiquette:
Please arrive 5 minutes before the session starts. We can't accept interruptions once the meditation starts. Please turn your phone completely off or put on airplane mode. Bring a drink if you wish and we also recommend a blanket or shawl as the body temperature can drop whilst meditating.
No experience is necessary: we welcome beginners and experienced meditators alike.
We will be working under the latest Welsh government guidelines for indoor gatherings. At the time of this publication - face masks, 2 meters apart, hand sanitizer, track and trace.
It would be useful if you conduct a lateral flow test before arriving but this is not mandatory.
