This course is aimed at Junior Doctors, Nurses and Therapists (SLT, PT and OT) and is designed to develop theoretical and clinical knowledge within the practice of traumatic brain injury acute management and rehabilitation. Participants will have the chance to discuss the evidence base associated with current traumatic brain injury (TBI) acute rehab and examine its practical applications.

- This course will cover the following topics:
- Challenging Behaviours after TBI
- Post traumatic Amnesia
- Executive dysfunction after TBI
- Cognitive-communication disorder after TBI
- Promoting Psychological recovery after TBI
- Beyond the Acute Phase
- Disorders of Consciousness after TBI, including complex physical management
- This course will give therapists the chance to explore the specialist roles in a brain injury multidisciplinary team.
- This course will encourage therapists to integrate learning into their own clinical practice and develop clinical reasoning skills.
- This course will enhance assessment, treatment and clinical reasoning skills for more effective management of people with traumatic brain injuries.
